James Phillips

James has been playing guitar for a good 13 years now! He took lessons, but struggled initially to motivate himself to practice beyond that. That all changed when James discovered metal bands such as Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold. He was instantly hooked by their heavy, powerful sound, and became inspired to play as much as he could to replicate (and better) them!

James started to pick things up really quickly in high school and went on to do a course in music tech at college. He then went to BIMM Manchester university to study music and all the pieces start to fit together. James spent time figuring out how to produce, write and learn new music all through trial and error & It was at that time where he started my Instagram channel and the rest kind of fell into place. 2 or 3 years into the channel he started to get a bit of contact with companies like Bare Knuckle Pickups, GetGood Drums and Neural DSP which, during the course of lockdown, he spent a lot of time making videos for!

While James still works a full time job, he spends a lot of time creating a wide variety of video content. He's endorsed by some really supportive and incredible companies like Mayones Guitars, Bare Knuckle Pickups and The Happy Cable Company.
