Building vibrato chops!

Vibrato is a truly fundamental technique on the guitar, and a great tool for guitarists to help express themselves on the instrument. In fact, when you talk or play with any pro guitar player they are constantly performing vibrato, but it’s so subconscious at that point that they almost don’t know they are. It becomes a part of your voice on the instrument. For improver and early intermediate players, we need to work on this mechanical motion from the ground up, and we do exactly this in this course. We work through the mechanics, the feel, the skills and they why & when to use it.

A step by step guide to vibrato

Over the 5 lessons of this Challenge course, Thomas walks you through all of the core vibrato elements you need to learn. All are challenging, and each will take you on a journey! The first lesson is the absolute beginnings of your vibrato... A simple “how to”! The second lesson is putting vibrato it into musical phrases and when and why you might do that. Thirdly we will be tackling vibrato on bends (difficulty warning!) and then the fourth lesson is working on the picking hand to get the sound under control. Finally we’ll be working on chord vibrato, which is a different beast altogether. All in all, after this course you will have all the mechanics and skills you need to then apply to every future piece and song you ever play!
